Aruba Activa is a crowdfunding platform where participants have the opportunity to feature one of their current or new project and receive funding. The funding comes from donations that are received through Aruba Activa. By participating in Aruba Activa, your projects will be showcased on the website so that donors can familiarize themselves with the initiatives.

Funds per project can never exceed Afl. 5,000.00.

Applicant Profile

– Individual

  • Must be 18 years or older
  • Must be an Aruban citizen or have a valid residency permit

 

– Company

  • Must registered at the chamber of commerce
  • Owner(s) must be 18 years or older
  • Commercial activities must take place on Aruba
  • Company must be less than two years old

 

– Foundation

  • Must be registered at the chamber of commerce
  • Director must be 18 years or older
  • Activities must take place on Aruba
  •  
 

Project Requirements

  • The project could be new or existing project.
  • Existing projects cannot be more than two (2) years in implementation phase.
  • Projects should solve a societal or systematic issue facing the island and/or create economic activity in Aruba.
 

Submission Requirements

  • Project description (max 300 words)
    • Be sure to note what gap or problem you are addressing
    • Who you are?
    • Why you started this project
  • Headshot/ Photo/ Video
  • Budget for your project
    • The amount you need
    • Why you need the funds or what you will do with the funds
  • Valid Identification (Passport or ID)

 

Review

Projects are reviewed firstly on an anonymous basis to remove project/content bias. After this round, if the project is selected for the next step, applicants will then go through an interview and assessment process.

Proper Use of Funds

The Aruba Activa team will closely monitor the proper use of funds requiring applicants to provide invoices and proof of payment to ensure a fair and transparent process.

Funds Distribution Requirements

The following documents are required before disbursing any amount to participants:

  • Proof of residency (Censo Afl. 5 <3 months old or any utility bill with your name on it)
  • KVK number (if applicable)
  • TAX I.D. (persoonsnummer)
